Introduction Since the introduction of the DDA act, facilities for the hard of hearing have become more in demand. This has lead to an increase in suppliers and manufactures providing both fixed induction loop and/or infrared technology to reinforce sound to those with hearing difficulties.
Tyco has designed, installed and integrated many fixed and portable induction loops systems and the use of infrared for language distribution.
Induction Loops
Traditionally a metal strip is installed at floor level. More modern systems can also be installed that use Super Loop technology at intermediate wall height to reduce or eliminate overspill sometimes encountered with fixed loop systems.
We understand that the technology of amplifying sound to an adequate level in an environment is a science and is calculated as such.
Infrared
Infrared is often preferred in new builds or refurbishments particularly as it requires less installation and in some cases can be adapted to a portable system.
Infrared also provides higher security as it cannot travel through walls, floors and ceilings.
