Leicester City Council
Tyco successfully designed and installed a turnkey integrated Wireless Conferencing and Visual display system for Leicester City Council. Providing audio conferencing for delegates in the Main Chamber, the system also has links to six further meeting rooms; believed to be the largest Multi-wireless CCU system in Europe
The Main Chamber consists of:
• 85 Wireless delegate units including integrated electronic voting
• Integrated discreet automated camera tracking
• Professional PA sound reinforcement using column line array speakers to public gallery
• Infrared and fixed loop technology for hearing impairment facilities
• Large electric tab-tensioned projection screen and long throw projection system
• High resolution small screen displays for dais – included bespoke tilting brackets
• Audio and Video switching matrix with picture in picture to overcome the need for multiple screens
• Audio connection with Local Radio station
• Wireless touch panel room control system for all visual, audio and lighting control
The system extends to six further smaller meeting rooms, consisting of:
• Wireless CCU
• Infrared technology for hearing assistance
• Large high quality flat panel display
• Networked fixed PC for file and presentation sharing
• Bespoke Oak AV cabinets
Installation of the system was carefully carried out to protect the Grade 2 listed polished oak fascia, as well as modifications to existing cupboards to accommodate the CCU equipment. Specialised matching cabinets; incorporating thermal management, were also built to house the AV systems. To complete this turnkey solution Tyco also provided all the electrical work, project management and training, to deliver a successful and cost-effective AV solution to meet Leicester City Council’s specific requirements.
