Introduction
Tyco’s Mosaic platform is an open-architecture monitoring and control system for high-performance security and surveillance applications. Mosaic builds on Tyco’s reputation for delivering high quality security systems, whilst offering all the advantages of a state-of-the-art IP architecture. It enables seamless supervision and management of both traditional analogue systems and the latest IP security technology. Mosaic also offers integration with a wide array of security and surveillance products to provide a single integration platform.
Network Video Management
Mosaic is more than just an NVR – it is a complete Network Video Management System. The sophisticated virtual matrix capabilities make it possible to switch video and audio sources to one or more destinations across complex network topologies. Mosaic can also control traditional video switches and management systems such as TVNP to enable complex hybrid analogue-IP integrations. Mosaic supports a wide range of cameras, codecs and compression technologies. Video streams can be simultaneously recorded, viewed by one or more operators, displayed on a video wall, and processed by ANPR or other video-analytics applications. The digitally-encoded video and audio streams can be stored to internal hard-disks or to high-capacity high-performance storage systems such as RAID arrays, Storage Area Networks (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS).
Fully Integrated Alarm Handling
Mosaic can receive alarms and events from a wide range of sources, including video-related alarms from integrated video-analytics and ANPR systems, and externally triggered alarms. When an alarm is received it can be automatically distributed to one or more Mosaic operators, depending on the type and priority of the alarm and the operators’ respective roles. Full details of the alarm will be displayed in the Mosaic alarm panel, and the location can be automatically highlighted in the GUI maps. Pre-alarm video recordings from one or more cameras can be automatically displayed for easy alarm verification. Each alarm can also be configured to send one or more cameras to preset PTZ positions, change the video quality profile for these cameras, start recording, etc.
Mosaic Key Features
CCTV ‘virtual-matrix’ switching of IP cameras or encoders to video monitors and/or PC screens.
Compatible with a variety of IP cameras and codecs, including mega-pixel
Supports a wide range of multicast, unicast, and gateway transmission models.
Switching and control of legacy analogue CCTV systems.
Camera control, including PTZ, presets, sequences, tours and auxiliaries.
Digital recording and playback of video and audio. Recording can be triggered by alarm input or operator, or can be scheduled for different dates/times with varying frames-rates etc.
Easy-to-use multi-screen GUI for selection and control of live and recorded video with HTML maps.
Optional camera selection and control by means traditional CCTV control-panel.
Audit-trail and management reports.
Optional integrated video-analytics.
Flexible & Scalable
Mosaic can be easily scaled from a single-box solution with a few cameras, to a distributed multi-site system with thousands of cameras. The advanced network architecture takes full advantage of the latest IP network technology to deliver high-quality video using any combination of unicast, multicast, proxy-server or transcoded video streams. The open architecture makes it possible to easily integrate different manufacturers’ devices – both legacy analogue equipment and the latest IP-connected devices – and different security applications.
Easy to Use
Mosaic has been designed to be easy to use, and easy to administer. The Windows-based ControlCentre and AdminCentre applications use familiar drag & drop concepts, with one-touch operation for key commands. The comprehensive user-management facilities can be used to restrict individual users’ access to specific functions or devices. Mosaic is available in multiple languages for international use. Operators also have the option of using a traditional CCTV keyboard and joystick to select and control cameras.
