Wycombe District Council

Wycombe District Council were looking to enhance their conferencing facilities by providing visual presentation equipment in the main council chamber and committee rooms.

The solution they required had several key criteria, including;

• Everyone in the chamber had to have a good view of a screen
• Facilities for the public to engage in the democratic process
• Facilities for the hearing impaired
• Visual and Audio links to committee rooms

The solution included ceiling mounted Sony projectors with electrical drop down semi tensioned screens located behind the dais facing into the chamber.

As people sitting in the well of the chamber could suffer from a restricted view, a further seven small LCD screens were provided to the dais, allowing everyone in the chamber to see the visual presentations.

In order to allow the public to take part in the democratic process, two large LCD screens were provided at the left and right hand sides of the public gallery.

As well as the main chamber there are two committee rooms with previous equipment already installed. Both rooms were equipped with new electrical drop down screens to suit the existing projectors, creating a unified, consistent look.

The committee rooms were also equipped with discretely positioned infrared units to provide facilities for the hearing impaired.

The complete solution was supported with a future proofed CAT6 infrastructure.
