Radio Paging

Introduction

Radio Paging offers flexible communications for people on the move and people at risk.

At Tyco , we have a range of on-site communication systems and bespoke solutions based on a range of paging products such as the DP6000 paging and PS-Micro. Our digital radio paging products are renowned for being at the forefront of technology.

Our range includes paging receivers, transmission equipment and accessories to allow communications with individuals or groups of people simultaneously (group-call or all-call). Communications can be in the form of receiver generated tones, numeric or alpha-numeric text messages, or two-way speech.

Even greater flexibility can be achieved by interfacing our paging systems to the telephone network enabling callers to 'page' individuals as required. Similarly, these interfaces can also be applied to DECT telephony for applications in healthcare, for example.

Paging in Retail

Paging is extensively used in retail to discretely contact staff on the shop floor or in the stores/distribution areas. Where stores are part of a chain with multiple sites across the country, all the sites can be linked together for more effective paging.

Paging in the Healthcare Environment

Paging has particular significance in hospitals providing a second line of communications to doctors, crash teams, and staff, allowing them to react quickly, wherever they may be. Paging can work hand-in-hand with DECT telephony to provide the estate manager with a cohesive communications strategy. The PS-Micro sub-system is particularly useful in the healthcare environment.

PS Micro for 'Location Aware' Paging

Where workers operate alone, or work in a hazardous environment and are vulnerable to attack or incident, we can provide devices that generate an alarm if the user has a problem. For example, alarms can be generated by pressing a panic button or pulling a rip-cord located on the pager. Also, if no motion is detected or the orientation of the unit changes (i.e. someone has collapsed) the unit activates an alarm.

These facilities are available with our PS-Micro system, which allows alarms to be displayed on a graphical user interface showing site or building plans to allow operators to pinpoint the exact location of the incident.

As well as instantly alerting another pager of a problem, PS-Micro can be linked with a local CCTV system to instantly provide visual verification of the alarm condition. Similarly it can be interfaced to Public Address and DECT systems, to send out audible alarms.

Lone Worker Systems - Paging for Site Safety

Our range of Lone Worker systems are also ideally suited for the industrial environment and the utilities. Lone Worker Systems provide protection for personnel who work alone or in dangerous environments. All of our pagers and our DECT handsets are available as intrinsically safe (Ex) units for use in hazardous zones.
